Terms of Service

    Last updated: October 2026

    1. Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") describe the general terms that apply when you use mazamkhalid.com or engage Mazam Khalid ("I", "me", "my", or "Service Provider") for professional services.

The services may include Technical SEO, Google Search Console and indexing work, web engineering, software development, website performance optimization, ecommerce development, infrastructure configuration, analytics implementation, AI Search optimization and related technical services.

A specific proposal, statement of work, contract, platform agreement or other written agreement may contain terms that are specific to a particular project. Where such an agreement exists, its project-specific terms will apply to the extent permitted by applicable law.

    2. Services

Services may include, depending on the agreed project scope:

    • Technical SEO audits and implementation
    • Google Search Console and indexing troubleshooting
    • Core Web Vitals and website performance optimization
    • WordPress and WooCommerce development
    • Shopify development and technical SEO
    • Laravel and React web engineering
    • Custom website and software development
    • International SEO and hreflang implementation
    • Schema markup and structured data implementation
    • Website migrations and technical changes
    • Cloudflare, DNS, CDN and infrastructure configuration
    • Server and hosting-related technical work
    • Analytics and tracking implementation
    • AI Search, GEO and AEO-related optimization

The exact deliverables, exclusions, timeline and responsibilities for a project should be defined in the relevant proposal or written agreement.

    3. Proposals, Scope & Acceptance

Before substantial project work begins, I may provide a written proposal, quotation, statement of work or project scope describing the services to be provided.

A project may be considered accepted when the client confirms the scope in writing, approves the proposal through the relevant platform, signs an agreement, makes a required payment, or otherwise instructs me to begin the work.

Work requested outside the agreed scope may require a separate quotation, change request or written approval before it is undertaken.

    4. Fees & Payment

Project fees, payment schedules and currencies are normally stated in the applicable proposal, contract, invoice or platform agreement.

    • Payments may be required before work begins, at agreed milestones, periodically during an engagement, or upon delivery depending on the project structure.
    • For recurring services, the applicable billing cycle and payment deadline will be communicated before or at the beginning of the engagement.
    • Additional work outside the agreed scope may be charged separately after the scope and applicable fee have been agreed.
    • Applicable taxes, transaction charges or third-party service costs may be the responsibility of the client where legally or contractually applicable.

If a payment becomes overdue, work may be paused until the account is brought up to date. Any applicable late-payment rights or charges will be subject to the relevant written agreement and applicable law.

    5. Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for providing the information, approvals and access reasonably required to perform the agreed work.

    • Provide accurate information about the website, business and project requirements.
    • Provide appropriate access to relevant systems when implementation requires it, such as CMS, hosting, analytics, Search Console, Cloudflare or ecommerce platforms.
    • Maintain appropriate backups of important website, database and business data.
    • Review deliverables and provide reasonable feedback or approvals within the agreed project timeframe.
    • Confirm that materials supplied to me may lawfully be used for the requested project.

Delays caused by missing access, delayed approvals, unavailable third-party systems or incomplete client information may affect the project timeline.

    6. SEO & Search Performance Disclaimer

SEO and search visibility depend on many factors outside the direct control of the Service Provider, including search-engine algorithms, competitors, website history, content quality, technical changes, platform limitations and third-party actions.

Therefore, no specific Google ranking, traffic level, indexing outcome, AI-search citation, conversion rate or revenue result is guaranteed unless expressly stated in a separate written agreement and legally permissible.

Technical recommendations are based on available evidence and current best practices at the time of the engagement, but search engines and third-party platforms may change their systems without notice.

    7. Third-Party Platforms & Services

Projects may involve third-party platforms and services such as Google, Microsoft, Meta, Shopify, WordPress, Cloudflare, hosting providers, analytics platforms, advertising platforms, payment providers or other external services.

These platforms are controlled by their respective providers and may change their functionality, pricing, availability, policies or technical requirements.

I am not responsible for failures, outages, policy changes, suspensions, algorithm changes or other actions taken independently by third-party providers.

    8. Website Access & Security

Where technical access is provided, I will use that access only as reasonably necessary to perform the agreed services.

Clients should provide the minimum permissions reasonably required for the task and should avoid sharing unnecessary passwords or sensitive credentials where more secure access methods are available.

Where practical, access credentials should be provided through appropriate account invitations, role-based permissions or secure credential-management systems rather than ordinary email or chat.

    9. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, client-specific custom deliverables created specifically for a project will be transferred or licensed to the client according to the applicable proposal or agreement once the relevant fees have been paid.

Pre-existing code, reusable components, development techniques, frameworks, templates, libraries, scripts, tools and general technical knowledge remain the property of their respective owner unless explicitly transferred in writing.

Third-party software, plugins, themes, libraries, APIs, fonts, images and other licensed materials remain subject to their own licences and terms.

    10. Portfolio & Publicity

I may reference completed work, client names, logos or project results in a portfolio or professional case study only where the applicable client agreement permits it or the information is already publicly available and its use is appropriate.

Confidential project information, private analytics data, credentials and other non-public information will not be intentionally published as portfolio material.

    11. Confidentiality

Both parties should treat non-public business, technical and commercial information received during an engagement as confidential, except where disclosure is required by law or the information is already publicly available.

Confidential information may include business plans, customer data, analytics information, source code, credentials, server configuration, technical architecture and commercial information.

    12. Deliverables, Revisions & Changes

Deliverables and revision rounds depend on the scope agreed for the specific project.

Requests that materially change the agreed requirements, technology, functionality or scope may be treated as additional work and may require a revised timeline or fee.

    13. Cancellation & Termination

Either party may request termination of an ongoing engagement in accordance with the applicable proposal, contract or platform agreement.

If no separate termination terms have been agreed, reasonable notice should normally be provided for recurring services.

Fees for work already completed, approved milestones, non-cancellable third-party costs and other amounts already incurred may remain payable following termination.

Refunds, if applicable, will be determined according to the relevant written agreement, the status of the work and applicable law.

    14. Bugs & Post-Delivery Support

Where a delivered website or software component contains an issue that directly relates to the agreed implementation, reasonable corrective support may be provided according to the project scope or any support period stated in the relevant agreement.

Issues caused by later third-party updates, client modifications, changes to hosting or infrastructure, new requirements, unsupported plugins or external services may fall outside the original scope.

    15. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, liability arising from a specific engagement will be limited to the scope and amount agreed in the applicable contract or proposal.

I will not be responsible for indirect or consequential losses to the extent such exclusion is permitted by applicable law, including losses resulting from third-party platform failures, search-engine changes, client actions or circumstances outside my reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability where doing so would be prohibited by applicable law.

    16. Force Majeure

Neither party will be responsible for a delay or failure to perform caused by circumstances reasonably beyond its control.

Such circumstances may include major internet or infrastructure failures, hosting outages, natural disasters, government actions, widespread service outages, cyber incidents affecting third-party infrastructure or other events that could not reasonably be prevented or controlled by the affected party.

    17. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

The governing law and dispute-resolution process for a specific project should be established in the applicable written agreement, taking into account mandatory laws that may apply to the parties.

Where a dispute arises, both parties are encouraged to first attempt to resolve it through good-faith communication and reasonable negotiation.

    18. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to the website, services, business practices or applicable requirements.

The latest version will be published on this page with an updated revision date.
